What is Yoga?
Yoga is about the union or connection between the body, mind, and soul. The word yoga means "union," and performing different yoga postures that require mental and physical energy brings the physical body into balance with the mind. Yoga is perfect for all people regardless of fitness level or range of flexibility. All students are encouraged to work at their own pace.
Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is a branch of yoga on which most modern yoga is based. Ha means "sun" and tha means "moon," together symbolizing the balancing and joining of opposites.
Hatha Yoga is the study of physical postures or "Asanas." Moving through these postures gently stretches the spine, lubricates the joints, and massages the internal organs. Each movement is guided by the breath. After the asanas and breath work are completed, there is a guided meditation and deep relaxation. When the three are combined, students experience increased body strength as well as relaxation, emotional calmness, and peacefulness. All classes are taught with supportive nurturing guidance in a nonjudgmental, noncompetitive atmosphere. Through yoga one will strengthen and rejuvenate the body (physical), quiet the mind (mental), and achieve inner peace (spiritual).

Massage Therapy is one of the oldest forms of therapy. It addresses a variety of health conditions, the most prevalent being stress-related tension. Massage is beneficial in releasing muscle spasms and tension, creating blood circulation, increasing joint flexibility, relieving pain for migraine sufferers, and much more. Bodywork offers a drug-free, non-invasive and humanistic approach based on the body's natural ability to heal itself.
Therapies used at Hall of Light are based on each individual's need. Specialized therapies include sports injuries, reiki, swedish, deep tissue, tuina therapy (Chinese medical massage), craniosacral therapy, reflexology, Thai yoga massage, and Raindrop Therapy.
All treatments are by appointment only.
